I took a look at this a long time ago but I haven't been around as much until a few weeks ago, so sorry for the delayed response. The only issue I have is that I'd like to keep non-standard modules optional. I'm thinking that some people out there might confused as to why the script isn't loading for them and they might not know how to install requests. If you made it so that your changes took effect only if the user has requests installed, then that would be much better I think.
